As a human, she killed for food, but it quickly escalated. It seems like whatever you were reading was a bit off. Why does Zero care if the flower destroys mankind - She doesn’t. She is solely responsible for them, so before she kicks the bucket, she wants to correct that mistake- she inadvertently created them when she attempted to remove the flower that had affixed to her heart, but by trying to cut it out with her sword, it triggered a defense mechanism of the flower, which stole bits of her power to create clones in order to give it multiple chances for survival. She only wants to kill them to right the mistake she made before which created them in the first place. Zero wants to kill her sisters so the flower won’t destroy mankind - Zero couldn’t care less about humanity.
